I’m Hannah-Phoebe, the astrologer and herbalist behind Starflower Stories.
Having benefited immensely from an astrology reading in my early twenties I felt compelled to dive deep into understanding as much as I could about this science and art. I committed to learning the skills to decode stars and signs. Curiosity took me a long way, and after studying with John Green and the College of Psychological Astrology and Sarah Varcas and her Awakenings School of Intuitive Astrology, I am overjoyed to offer the gift of a reading to others.
My studies in herbal medicine came about after seeking to understand better holistic health care after mental health challenges which exposed me to the lack of spiritual support available, as well as the homogeneity of treatment programmes. Through working with herbs and astrology I have found a path to mind-body-spirit healing that works to give context and narrative to the traumas and emotions that so often infiltrate our physical bodies to cause illness as well as providing symptom relief and connection to our Earth and our Ancestors. I am currently offering supervised consultations as part of my final year in the programme at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in Kings Cross, London and the achievement of my 500 required clinic hours prior to graduation. I am a member of the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners and the Association of Master Herbalists. I work with Health at Every Size principles and a non-diet approach.
The name ‘Starflower Stories’ comes from my love of the herb borage, commonly known as starflower. This little blue star-shaped herb, with it’s cucumbers taste and fresh aroma, is the medicine for our times. It’s a tonic for our adrenals, nourishing those run down by cortisol and exertion. Drunk by the Romans before battle and handed down in the aphorism ‘borage for courage’, this fresh and invigorating, nourishing and supporting little star is an ally to all. The stories part comes from my love of myth and legend, folk tales and bardic epics. These parts of tradition passed down, that speak of connection to place, to heritage and ancestry, predecessors, companions and archetypal journeys provide models for growth, development, crossing thresholds and individuation.
Coaching + counselling
I am currently enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Psychosynthesis Foundations in order to ground my coaching in a psychotherapeutic model and develop my counselling skills. I will graduate in December 2019.
I hope you like what you find here and would love to see you in a consultation or workshop soon!
